LINES OF THE DAY

". . . But the past does not exist independently from the present. Indeed, the past is only past because there is a present, just as I can point to something over there only because I am here. But nothing is inherently over there or here. In that sense, the past has no content. The past -- or more accurately, pastness -- is a position. Thus, in no way can we identify the past as past." p. 15

". . . But we may want to keep in mind that deeds and words are not as distinguishable as often we presume. History does not belong only to its narrators, professional or amateur. While some of us debate what history is or was, others take it into their own hands." p. 153

How 'Bout That SCOTUS, HUH?

Pay for play, the law of the land.

As darthvader pulled off the biggest heist in the history of the world, he's probably now the most powerful person in the world.

Air America is off the air -- bankruptcy.

I believe this is National Socialism in its most formal sense, as it Nationalizes Free Speech?
I mean this is crazy talk.
People often mistaken Orwell's political speech "Doublethink" with a psychological disorder like "Cognitive Disonance." While different, I believe both can exist within the same framework or world view, but I think such a scenario leads inevitably to schizophrenia and perverted incentives to adverse consequences.
I've been listening to C-span radio today, Exec comp packages. Now that is something we should be able to get our handcuffs around, but alas finding these invisible hands within the multiple personalities of your average corporate citizen is proving Freddie Krugger light horror indeed.

Thanks youz,

There is no doubt this nation, as a nation, is insane.

It probably began with the founding idealist philosophy of 'freedom' and 'equality,' while profiting all the time from slavery.
