The first one was a young woman, assistant principal of a school in Queens. The second one is an infant.
More schools are closed every day now.
It's shown up in the Rikers Island population, the city's big 'corrections' facility. The supervisors are saying it needs to be evacuated and sanitized from top to bottom. The mayor's office says otherwise, and that such an evacuation is impossible in any case.

Much can be blamed on the slow actions of Calderon's government. Precautions were taken after Obama's trip in Mexico.
It's considered cool to make fun of what some think of overreaction. I think what was considered overreaction, was overall positive. It beats wait and see.
I'm not going to blame Mexico for what we don't do here in the U.S.
The mayor's office sounds a whole lot like Louisiana and FEMA and HS disaster mangerment teams. The only disaster evacuation plan was "Let the poor die, and they will. That's good. No more Chocolate City island of black, Dem voting block here -- we'll go all red all the time."
Except virii aren't as effectively sequestered in the superdome, er the prison, as are the poor.
