LINES OF THE DAY

". . . But the past does not exist independently from the present. Indeed, the past is only past because there is a present, just as I can point to something over there only because I am here. But nothing is inherently over there or here. In that sense, the past has no content. The past -- or more accurately, pastness -- is a position. Thus, in no way can we identify the past as past." p. 15

". . . But we may want to keep in mind that deeds and words are not as distinguishable as often we presume. History does not belong only to its narrators, professional or amateur. While some of us debate what history is or was, others take it into their own hands." p. 153

Vaquero on Chris Lydon & "Open Source Radio"

You can hear Vaquero live talking about history, New Orleans, music, politics here:

New Orleans, the Recovery Model: Ned Sublette

Chris had the cojones to leave in Vaquero's wistful wish that George Bush not leave the White House ... in a suit, rather than in an orange arrestee's prison overall, in company with his criminalgangofcronies.

Vaquero feels he's justified himself to a degree by getting that statement out there, on the radio waves, on the last day of the crime regime.

I get upset when Obama's attorney general nominee, said you shouldn't criminalize political disagreement. That is actually true. You should criminalize illegal political activity.

The number of high crimes and misdemenors committed by the chimp&Co. -- we'll never even be able to know all of them there are so many.

Additionally they've left sleeper cells of xtian criminals all through the federal and state civil service jobs everywhere.

They never surrender or give up. It was comedy in Galaxy Quest but in our real life and government it's terrorism.

They need to be investigated, indicted, tried and convicted, and thrown into prison.
