The minute the 'baggers began extolling the glories of the Constitution, one had to know they were gearing up for an attack on it. That's the way the right works: They're precisely what they accuse others of being: fascist, racist, undemocratic, un-Americanand now lawless.<br /><br />In less than a year, they've called for repealing the 17th Amendment, modifying the 14th Amendment, and now made a brass-knuckled attack on the 1st Amendment. The 14th and 1st are virtually synonymous with the American concept of liberty.<br /><br />But, hey, this is really misguided economic populism. They're on our side -- they just don't know it.
